Home is Where the Heart is... ☼ | Kaylan Crenshaw Photography

Many people probably wonder why I'm SO obsessed with Arizona. There are numerous reasons why I have always been prone to loving anything and everything about this state. So, I figure I might as well answer all of you who have been wondering!

Reason #1

Arizona is the place that I was born 19 years, 3 months, and 8 days ago. Most people that I encounter with love where they were born, especially if it is somewhere outside of Arkansas. I wish that I could have experienced what it would have been like to stay in such a beautiful state. But unfortunately, I had to move just a few months after I was born.

Reason #2

I had so many wonderful memories as a kid when I used to go to Arizona and visit my grandparents. There's only a handful of dull moments I can recall during these visits. I would wake up early every morning with such a beautiful sun rise outside of my bedroom. It wouldn't take but a few minutes for me to get dressed and go outside to play. Most of the time, I would ride my bike around town with GP (my grandpa), swim outside in the pool, or even go play at the park with my Uncle Andre.

Reason #3

There's something about the southwestern art, colors, and prints that catch my attention. I think that the southwestern culture is absolutely beautiful. I have always been so in love with tribal prints and all of the artwork and has that southwestern vibe to it. I remember all of the paintings and sculptures my grandparents would have around the house and I just felt like all of it was a piece of my heart.

Reason #4

The weather. Many people think of Arizona and automatically think of heat. It turns most people away, but I on the other hand LOVE the way it feels there. I honestly think that it's better there during the summer than it is here in Arkansas. Here in Arkansas, there's just SO much humidity. For some strange reason, when I am in Arizona I hardly think about the heat at all. I mean, yeah... It's gonna be hot occasionally, but I'd rather be hot than cold.

I hope that this post answers some of the questions people are asking themselves when I tell them that Arizona is where I want to spend my future. Honestly, some things can't be explained. Sometimes, it's just how your heart feels, but I tried my best to describe how much of an impact it has had on my life. I can't wait to visit again and maybe... HOPEFULLY... one day be able to stay.
